WHAT DO YOU SEE image prompt

the soul exists on an astro-plane
a mystical entity pulsating with energy
who knows to what realms a soul has traveled
the evil it has imbibed
or the good it imbues
the secrets that have sipped into its essence
and the experiences weaved into its fabric
who know with what intentions a soul enters our world
is it with revenge that causes atrocities
or love that transforms wicked hearts
is it with pains that scar us with mental illness
or with knowledge that changes the earth
who can truly tell what lies beneath the surface
behind the silhouette
mysterious one
bound to memories of earth
searching for answers
the ether recalls you now
instead you linger with regret

I have a hard time believing in souls. The whole idea that they exist outside the only world I have proof exists baffles me. But you did an excellent job here. Your words bring comfort and meaning to this inexplicable thing we call life.

it’s just that our reasoning and thoughts and diversity as humans feels like it comes from much more than evolution so i accept that there might be something spiritual about that

The mystery of life. The eternal question which I sometimes ponder but would often rather forget, lest my mind explode over the vastness of everything. Well written, Jude!

yes, it is quite vast, i try not to dwell on it too long as well, i figure one should just live the best life one can
