The Wishing Bridge

gentle searching breeze
tasting this and tasting that
looking to belong

I grant one wish, – only your truest desire you must unsheathe, – or else my wrath I will unleash

What is your heart's deepest desire?
where does the soul go when you despair
ensnared within your darkest depression
or when you rejoice
exalted within your finest moments of bliss
,
search deep within yourself and answer this question
for none should dare cross into the unknown
with uncertainty as companion
lest they fall into that pit of misery and demise
,
the wishing bridge it is called
with its icy promise of warmth
it grants a wish per soul and only to those
with a deepest knowledge of their inner selves
so beware before you begin
your journey across
this wishing bridge
lofty sentient bridge
woven with intuition
attuned to desires
an ominous link between times
from yesterday to tomorrow

  6. The poem charms me and scares me at the same time. Between its two sides there is a bridge.
    Beautifully executed. Bravo.
