Fatal Attraction (horror poetry)

Beneath the pale gleam of a delirious moon
the night whispers tale of a sinister plot
and the ghost of evil lingers on her beguiling smile
Wisps of conspiratory clouds-
snuff out the shy flicker of weary stars
and i catch a glint of something in her eyes
an eerie mischief fogged in flirtatious seduction
How I’ve longed, craved and pursued this very moment
alone with the one i desire
on the magical threshold of a night spent together
I turn a blind eye to the shadows of dought in my mind
ignore the signs that hover on the periphery of my sight
as she invokes an overwhelming lust within me
her dexterously sensual fingers frolicking along my body
luring me to her doorstep of dreams
A woeful firefly glows on a window ledge
and a ghoulish silhouette looms from the curtains beyond
but i do not see-
she has me in her thralls-
lust-dust in my eyes-
enslaved to her allure and her beauty
One step inside her dark lair, her grip tightens
her body twitches uncouthly
and something slavers indecently from a corner
My hair stands on end when the door slams from behind me
Claws grip me by my side
an eerie grotesque smile stretches itself-
onto the features of her now wretched face
blood freezes as shock and fear engulf me
pain sears on my left as something is hewn off my body
i fade, regret and betrayal my loving companions
….
midnight secrecy
auspicious and ethereal
duplicitous

Murder most clandestine… Nicely done. A subject I have envisaged on several occasions and will probably dally with again.

Thanks alot Chris, the ‘she’ in this tale started off perfectly mysterious then she just turned on me with every verse I wrote

  4. I enjoy your horror poetry, Jude. This reminds me of the Vampire ladies in the book Dracula.

Well, now that you mention them, it really does remind me of them too. Tho I was thinking more about the underlying betrayal and seduction when I wrote it

      1. I was thinking of the part where the lady vampires try to seduce Jonathan Harker.
