A Magical lament (fantasy poetry)

Down in a deep valley amidst a wall of lofty hills
a golden Phoenix sings away the morning chills
Perched on the highest top of the most majestic tree
it’s plumage shines and bathes the land in a kaleidoscope of glee

The night gnomes burrow into hobbit-like homes within rich earthen mounds
and pixie faced ferries rise from fragrant flowers all around
A delicious breeze filtered by the guardian-hills descends
bringing tales from far off lands at world’s end

Tucked in bed watched by loved ones, comfort glosses his face
bound in an endless dream within that magical place
And there on that bed and in that coma, he’ll spend the rest of his days
as family and friends that love him dismay

The dwarves blow a gilded horn to summon him, the hero of the land
Another quest beyond the hills, to find his princess and retrieve the elder wand…

Slumbering loved one
Always seeking adventure
Will you ever return
