Mysteries of Midnight

Midnight, on the threshold between realms
an aura of possibility surrounds you
pleasure and pain writhe in an orgy at your very helm

While shadows frolic within your different hues,
lustful stars sparkle with salacious secrets
And chance and destiny fight within your view

My dreams dance while fantasy creates
calming the mind and soothing the soul
but nightmares hide, awaiting fatal pirouettes

Midnight, darkness answers your call
plots and schemes, forbidden delights
All that hides falls under your control

Yet still you connive with moon’s ethereal light
To her, all your secrets you entrust
Loving her most, in this dark and mysterious night

Midnight hour, how your shades contrast
holding the best or hiding the worst
on the threshold between realms
an hour so short but one that overwhelms

Lying in between
yesterday and tomorrow
Omnipotent

Do you believe there’s something spiritual about the midnight hour? Is it auspicious or can it be sinister? I welcome your thoughts, for this topic intrigues me so.

Yeah the beauty can be mesmerizing, seems like it gives you either that or the other extremes depending on your mindset but I don’t know, hard to dismiss all superstition

Haha, yeah, most nights, or tucked in bed reading but some midnights do find uson gateways or nights out in the town and those are the ones riddled with superstition, I’m sure you’ve seen quite a number of midnights before

      1. Oh yes I’ve seen my share of midnights many times. However, these days I do treasure my bed and sleep a whole lot more then seeing midnight. LOL

Anyway the best midnights for me are those in the country with the open skies and dazzling stars

Its definitely an in-between time. A good time for watching the moon. I try not to be up that late, but am sometimes surprised to find myself there. And I always gravitate to the window and the night sky. (K)

Yeah that is beautiful on those insomnia nights but don’t let it find you awake after watching a scary movie or reading a thriller
