Memories of yesterday haunt me
the good ones ache and the bad linger
How I long to cast aside this incurable cloak of reminiscence
To let present wash over past
And whisp away in evanescence
But life is so still that time folds around me
My past becoming future
with no present to prevent history repeating itself
I imagine a better tomorrow but loss sullies my hope
As the good ones ache and the bad linger
This is my first attempt at writing a gogyoka poem. I wrote two of them because it was a perfect form for the emotions that stole over me this morning. As memories roamed bittersweet in my mind.
