Ocean mysteries

what do you see #26

Poseidon roils and the sea turns wretched
The sun is barely set yet the moon rises with indecent haste..
both are desperate, eager to be the last light in their memory
For where they go, only darkness reigns
Cold frigid winds billow, swirling and gusting from all directions
Steering is futile as their sails swivel in rebellion
Dark clouds to Port, darker clouds to Starboard
darkness closing in
Sailors and mates
Pirates and scaliwags
Fear grips them all
Inside the devil’s triangle!

“Avast Ye!” the price for greed is steep
the reward immense
“Shiver-me-timbers!” treasure lies at fear’s end
the journey intense

To the triangle they will go
There and back again!?¿

Oh mehn, this prompt! I’d like to thank Sadje for this. Immediately I saw it, a fit of adventure gripped me. I hope you enjoy this cameo.

Stay cautious, stay safe my friends.

I hear the crashing waves and the desperation of the sailors. Will their battle against the elements be rewarded, or will they sink to a watery grave?

Arrg this is a prompt I must have missed.
But that’s OK – I’ve watched shows on the ‘Devil’s Triangle’ … trying to prove it is more of a weather thing. But there are other ‘triangles’ on land too!

It’s all in what you want to believe. And a good adventure is a true mystery 😀

(…still catching up on return visits…so I haven’t written anything for today yet…)

I’ve watched a few shows about pirates and privateers – It think that’s the sanctioned pirates are called. But the other new modern versions… they aren’t so nice.

Pirates were mostly wrong and some downright evil but I think what people admire about them was that they lived a life true to themselves without pretense

There’s a town in Florida (I think) that honors a particular pirate – that after wrapping himself in anchor chain jumped ship rather than be caught…
