Colleen’s weekly challenge – theme prompt:
How far that little candle throws his beams!
So shines a good deed in a weary world~William Shakespeare, The merchant of Venice~
mournful little star
amidst these cold hearted flecks
forsaken to strife
you drip with lachrymose pleas
beseeching indifference
persistent love light
the lost, flock to your beacon
brightening this world
.
One light can make a difference, one light can spark a thousand more.
Thanks Colleen for this challenge, and Merril for choosing this week’s theme prompt. It’s a very beautiful quote from Shakespeare.
I hope you all enjoy this tanka and haiku.
Stay safe everyone and keep loving.
Wow, this is beautifully done, Jude. It amazes me how well you’ve spoken about loneliness and love with light. ๐

Such a beautiful composition Jude. That’s the beauty and magic of light. A tiny flame wipes away darkness and brightens all !!

I loved what you did, Jude. Your Tanka and Senryu are perfect with great meaning. Wasn’t this quote great inspiration? โค

It was, I was almost going to go in the opposite direction but everything about a candle speaks goodness to me so I didn’t want to go against my gut on this one
