Finding home

Pixabay

The world you’ve known has flipped on its axis
Where your true north lies, you can never tell
Your childhood home feels estranged, an empty shell
clouded in memories of loss, comfort’s antithesis
Your past, present and future have lost all symbiosis
You cannot understand
the lamb afraid of day
or the owls that flee from night
All you have is your scarlet car of dreams
Moving from place to place,
seeking a foothold in this world

This changing world is so diverse and so divergent
And so you clad yourself in shorts of summer and a coat of rain
At times you stop and try to catch your future’s scent
You want to go home, you’re tired of all this pain
You worry at the fickle stance of your present,
How long will anxiety remain
For how long can you sustain

.

The world is ever changing. Good and bad things can lie around the corner. All we can do is prepare as best we can, then step out into the unknown.

Once we find a home to plant our feet, then we must cherish it.

Stay safe my friends, stay loving
