Hidden Pleasure

Delicious Secrets
Spiced in guilt, seasoned with bliss
To tell is to spoil

It finds you in a moment of peace
When your guard is down and nothing but you exists
Like a flash of lightning, it’s brief as a glimpse
And yet it lingers, an imprint upon your mind
How you savour this memory!
Reminisce upon its sensual flavour
Delicate as a first kiss
Supple as the taste of a forbidden lover
Society may call it wrong
Religion may call it sin
A spouse may call it betrayal
But you will leave it unnamed
A sweetness that you can reclaim
Re-living a one-time escape
Hoarding the secret you’ll take to your grave

It comes like a cool draft upon a warm summer breeze
Meant for only you
Soothing only you
Yours!

Forbidden escape
Discreet and despicable
Mine and only mine

Sometimes a secret is not a burden, it is treasure.
