Twilight romance

At twilight he sings
Lamenting for her
His tether to this world

Her senses revolt as dawn descends
Love takes over and her aching soul wails
She catches his scent in the fair evening breeze
His phantom caress, soothing unease

His gaze threads the very fabric of space
He sees her on clouds, drifting through stars
The soft moonlight mimicks her smile
An illusion that rests, and always beguiles

A world away, together they pray
Detached hearts anchored by love
Some day the clouds will drift him to her
Some night the stars will lead her to him

My love, I starve, and long for embrace
For now through dreams it’s you I will chase

At twilight she dreams
Searching for him
Her home beyond reach

My hubby used to travel more… once he was away for six weeks… this was while our children were much younger. It was not easy at all. Now though I get to travel with him… or will once we are able.
