Love is warm.
It thaws the ice in our hearts,
And cradles our lonely souls.
Make a love wish!
What kind would it be?
Once, a girl loved a boy.
Once, she bared her soul to him.
Once, he filled that missing piece.
How that love consumed!
Burning everything around
Friends could not get close
And family was sidelined
He gave all he had
Until nothing was left
She recycled it all
And gave back twofold
There was no one without the other.
Oh the pleasures they birthed!
Revelling in passions and ecstasies
A love so sweet it ached
Insatiable yet abundant
Consuming yet fulfilling
But such love is not meant to last
For fate envies perfection
And how they flaunted that love
Taunting deities of every kind
For the gods are jealous beings
And their resentment would descend
Breaking their perfect love.
For while pleasure may last
but a moment,
Pain endures long after.
Genie in the lamp
Grant me what I seek the most
Love like no other
The perfect love
Self love

I do, I actually write and read all my poems aloud. Even the ones from people I follow in the reader.π

Well rhythm is best appreciated aloud and poetry is meant to reach the soul through ears before eyes, I think

Love always brings so much trouble, but self-love is the perfect, of course when it’s found!
