Moral conflicts #TankaTales

What happens when this life blisters,
And storm clouds roll across your virgin world.
When luck slips your naive grip,
And favour scurries into bushes of disappointment.
When fortune re-calls its blessing,
A courtesan who but lent you their time.
What will happen then,
When you fall from grace,
And your character is put to the test.
How deep do your roots go,
How far will you bend?

Dreams you must achieve
Up that ladder of success
How far can you go
Playing this dangerous game
Staying clean in dirty worlds

The taste of success and the addiction of ambition.

Lonely soul
Estranged far from home
Distanced love
When new beauty calls
Will you then stay true

The temptations of separation

Things that chain
Kept through pains
Souls Intact

The virtues of values

Life is riddled with countless moral tests,
And whilst we cannot always pass with flying colours,
We must always endeavour to succeed.

For Colleen’s weekly challenge this week(Poet’s choice)

Incase the tankas may seem irregular, it’s because I used three variations of the tanka form, with these respective syllabic metres;

  • 5/7/5/7/7
  • 3/5/3/5/5
  • 2/3/2/3/3

Stay safe everyone, and stay loving.
