Deeper Sight

Sometimes what you see is what you get.
But what you understand, is always something gained.

However, truth is a double edged sword.
And pain, is its sharper edge.

So as we read on,
Let us reflect on the power of knowledge,
The bliss of ignorance,
And the wisdom of understanding.

Whatdoyousee photo-prompt

When eyes see with the mind, true sight blossoms
Simple things become astonishing
Potted memories, red with love
Candles that mimick the stars
And the fruits of hard work
See and imagine
Stereo hearts
Tuned by hope
Seeking
Dreams

Sight is perception
And perception is inaccurate
But meaning is memory
A lasting memory of truth.

Inner eye
What is it you see
Deepest thoughts
Fondest dreams
Or just feathered winter gifts
Splashes of meaning

In my mind
She is so much more
Flaming hair
Flying soul
Eyes blazing with adventure
Surreal and perfect

Reflections
Crows swarm with warnings
Elken hearts
Stand up true
And the watercoloured souls
Reveal their secrets

Is depth the heart’s demise, or delight?
How blurred are the lines between interpretation, and infatuation?

Colleen’s ekphrastic photo challenge

When I look,
I’m filled with craving.
When I remember,
I ache with longing.
For seeing deep is a choice,
When what we love
Also brings us pain.
We choose to see what we want to see.

I enjoyed how you pulled your words out of what was seen in the images. Cleverly done. It is always difficult to see with just the brain or just the heart or the eyes alone… it would be good for all those things to work together when interpreting all that we encounter 😀

  11. Wowser! I got goosebumps reading all all wonderful poetry, Jude. What you saw in the image took on new meaning for me. Sometimes I think its good to see through the eyes of others. Some people only see what they want to see. When we engage and combine our perceptions, I think we see more. Bravo, Sir! ❤

So true! And yet sometimes we choose to look the other way and we still see what we looked away from in dreams… I find this fascinating and wonder what my dreams are trying to tell me?

    1. judeitakali says:

Hi Ingrid. I think if you are having relatively direct dreams, it is definitely worth a sit down and think session.
But be mindful that some of those dream warnings are just manifestations of our fears, so never take your dreams at their ‘word’ but maybe look into what that word says in reality?
      I’m just thinking…🙏🏾🤗
