Travelling Seashells
Parcels of divine blessing
Ocean’s love letters

The ocean sings of memory
Cleansing the conscience
Caressing shores with hyacinth kisses
A bouquet of longing
Resplendent with reflections of the stars
I am here, its waves seem to roar
I will always be, the currents whisper
And your soul listens
Yet the mind stays numb
The forest hears tales carried upon the wind
Of waters unexplored
Unbesmirched
And it dreads its prodigal lover
For in its heart, grows the history of this world.
Its iridescent leaves rustle songs of invitation
Calling man who once herded the ancient woods
The two thriving together
But the watching branches creak warnings of caution
For lovers change when ambitions divert
And man now seeks dominion
Lush ancient jungles
Your sacred beauty withers
Taken for granted

The heavens cascade their sorrow
And the sun scorches down in anger
Weeping and wailing
When man and earth drift further apart.
Yet many times, they still ply us with delights;
Soothing showers,
Sprinkled flakes,
And warm sparkles of light.
For there are those who fight for this vital love
And more who join each passing day

When crystals of winter glow
And waters of spring nourish
When summer meadows beam
And autumn leaves replenish
Nature holds true to her vow
And man must now, fall in line too

Hope you enjoy this.
Place a seashell on your ear, and let your soul listen to nature’s love letter.
Be safe, stay loving, and go green.
One line in this beautiful poem stood out for me… and your soul listens…

Thank you so much Jaye, it struck me as an epiphany. That there’s a reason we enjoy some things and yet never really give them a thought

I have visited a few different oceans… and have been able to collect some shells and coral pieces left by storms from many. My favorite piece of coral is about and inch long and is purple!
In my state there is a Farmland Trust. And this year they have been able to add many acers now protected for farmers. Some farmers leave some tree areas for deer and at the end of the season leave some of the various plants for animals to glean.
Humans working with nature is essential for both to survive. Hope you are staying warm… our temps dipped to 16 F (-8 C) last night!

Hey Jules, always warm enough in the tropics, even when it gets cold.
Yes, I agree, catering for nature is essential and beneficial to both us and the wild

This poem is just lovely! And so relevant and needed right now. The intersection of nature, health and emotional wellness is so very important and so overlooked by too many. My work as an environmental activist with the Climate Reality Project is focused on protecting the very existence of the beauty, and the destruction, of what you have captured here. Thank you for painting this picture so clearly with your words!

Thank you so much, Jude, for your interest! I have quite a few posts on my blog of my own work which is almost always non-fiction. I write commentary about cultural issues and information articles about aspects of our climate and environmental challenges. I am involved in research about the realities of climate change and related issues such as habitat loss and disruptions in migratory patterns, animal rescue being a particular passion of mine. I do post stories, poetry and other fiction written by writers in my circles whose work I admire.

Oceans, forest, heavens and their enchanting beauty and fragrance emanates from your beautiful verses Jude. Simply magical and divine. I hope man curtails his drift from nature and remains moored to it.
