Look into the flames
See my words take shape
And discover a whole new world
It all began with the great mist
A mist that birthed many things
Wonders and horrors alike.
Three druids harnessed its power
Each, mastering their own
The power of love,
The knowledge to create,
And the dread of fear.
For countless years they lived apart
Governing their own three realms
Until the mist that walled them in isolation,
And all could gaze upon each other.
Atop the mountain peaks
Gleamed the cities of creators
Marvels of architecture
Magnificent and proud.
Across the rolling plains
Beamed the meadows of love
Wondrous dwellings amidst lush forests
Effervescent with nature.
Within the gaping valley deeps
Steamed the realm built in fear
Robust and strong
Made in earthen minerals of splendor.
They all stared in awe and with curiosity
Each desiring to know the other
For their souls were not of dominion
And the world was on the verge of transcendence.
But deep in the forsaken chasms,
Fathoms beneath the mountains and the valleys
Dwelt the horrors of the mist
And in their hidden cesspools of profanities
They too, became aware of those above
For the time had now come
When good and evil would collide
And the world would change forever.
Three realms of Earth, Plant, and Sky
Meant to be together
And one of malice and destruction
Seeking to conquer
For wherever good may reside
Evil watches jealousy
I hope you enjoy this.
I drafted it by the fireside last night.
I do hope this tale inflames your imagination.
I’m such a sucker for fantasy and adventure.
And those flickering flames, a full belly, the night sky, and quite a number of tequila shots,
Sent me into a new world I just had to share with you
On this Christmas Eve.
