At a time of longing
On a night of distress
In a moment of reflection
I contemplate my existence
Gaze into the nebulous portends that scry my future
And all I see is despair
All I hear is loneliness
All I want is the end
Yet still I pray
And still I weep
For a guardian
For an angel
For comfort

Oh Come
Angel of light
Search my mind, Scour my heart
Prowl this metropolis
Shield its virtue
Protect
This soul of mine is a city
Ailing and decaying
Stained in sin
Festering with demons-
That never let go
And so I ask
And I beseech
Look to the sky
For an angel’s descent
But none I can see!
Oh Come!
Come dear angel
Wade through this depression
Fill this chasm of regret
Embrace my pain
My soul

She does not fall
She rises
From the subterranean core of my being
Pulchritudinous with possibilities
Clothed in the resplendence of hope
For there she has always been;
My Angel
Summoned by these most desperate calls
Calls cleansed of perfidy
Calls dripping with truth
Oh rise!
Forlorn angel
From the depths of my soul
For the epiphanies,
Of inner truth
Call you

Hope is an Angel
Truth is its herald

May you find some light in this post.
Hold on to hope,
Be true, and the universe will answer.
For Colleen’s poet’s choice, I composed the three “Badger Hexastich” poems in bold italics
And now for Sadje’s whatdoyousee
Stay safe everyone, stay loving.

An awesome poem. Love how you have used the symbolism of angels in different ways.

Clothed in the resplendence of hope” —
The sweetness and strength is a heady mixture of angelic attributes.

Beautifully penned thoughts. Those Angelic qualities are embedded within our soul… I absolutely agree Jude. All we need is the inclination to feel and invoke our Angel.

Thank you so much Eugi. Got the images from pixabay. I forgot to credit. I can’t seem to find your writings on this site, only prompt posts

Which site, Jude? Most of my stand alone poetry is on Eugi’s Milieu, which I just revamped. Eugi’s Causerie is used mostly for prompt posts. 😉

A good reminder to us of the presence of our guardian angel who is always at our service as assigned by the Father to watch over us. That was beautiful

I’m so glad you did.
I approach these spiritual things so neutrally that I sometimes think you wouldn’t approve.

I just watched a movie you might enjoy – if you can find it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Magic_of_Belle_Isle
Sort of predictable but you still wanted to watch it to make sure.
Unlike the last two episodes of a show I like to watch where one character (left the show) stayed in a foreign country, and another character… due to addiction – died.
All the characters are going through crisis… always having to deal with loss of loved ones and having to deal with solving murders.
Sigh… it isn’t easy to dig deep enough all the time to find those angels of hope. You rose to that challenge and succeeded.

These lines give me a totally new perspective – a soul which is not fighting the city, but is a city by itself.
