Have you ever wondered why love is ever changing,
Why it just can’t retain its virgin resplendence,
And why forever is different from what we imagine…
I will change
I will break any resolve
For you dear love
Whatever it takes!
The world ages in boundless splendor
Love breeds and yet never changes
Time heals but also decays
And here I wait; patient
For Impatient love
To be consumed
Steamed in lust
Oh to taste a warm kiss
And feel love’s soothing embrace
To have broken;
And soiled thy virtue
To crave beyond all fear and risk
For this thing called love
The ancient trees whisper of old loves
Floral drapes on bark, branch and leaf
Songs of great springs that blossomed
Winters that cleansed the fear
And cool summer shades
When love fell, as-
Why love sh’d dwell
Too close to despair
And the horrors of loss
For love is not evergreen
But it grows through adversity
Till all its seasons are beautiful.
The cycle of love
Pruning and thinning through pain
So All may grow true
Change is in love’s nature
It never stays the same
And in this;
Love will never change
So be prepared
And enjoy the journey
Is never what we imagine
And the best of the unforeseen
Is ultimately up to us.
Colleen’s syllabic challenge – ekphrastic photo prompt.
I hope you enjoy this and would love to know your thoughts.
About a nonet
A nonet has a (1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9) syllabic count.
Reversing a nonet and joining them in an hourglass shape, symbolises the passage of time, or transition.
And it felt perfect for my thoughts in this poem.
Please let me know what you think.
Stay safe everyone, Stay loving.
