Adhara and Lyra twinkle in the night sky
As your eyes dance with seductive glimmers
Sparks of desire blaze away the evening shivers
And jealous wisps of clouds-without-linings float by
Need turns to lust as your lips thirst and sigh
Anxious and eager, while the pale moon flickers
My love gazes into yours, and the night fears grow dimmer
The candle glistens, between you and I
These stars align, and lusty portends prowl
What else can we do, when love’s web is spun
For only in the dark, are the brightest fires lit
So howl, lone wolf! And hoot, seeing owl!
Lend urgency, so that two become one
Or this night will pass, and her love along with it!
Hey everyone, I hope you like this petrarchan sonnet.
Adhara is one of the brightest stars in the sky, and Lyra is the beautiful harp constellation.
P. S. My upcoming poetry book is ready now but I’m at an impass as I need a bank account in one of the amazon supported countries. As soon as I solve this, I’ll definitely be ready for the not so big book reveal.
Stay safe everyone, Stay loving.
