Within me. #poetry and #prose

When life teaches, the world inspires.
Some things bring us joy
Some joys lead to sadness
And true happiness needs not be sought
And yet can always be found.

Darkness, bring me stars!
Let me listen with my eyes
And see with my heart
For all Souls sing special tunes
Lost songs of beauty
The music of hidden hopes
Where passions roam free
Bound to none, yet binding all
When dreams are given a chance

A joy shared, is a joy grown

So I tether my hope to gratitude
And I soothe these fears with love
Dissolving loneliness in the harmony of nature
And diluting depression in the vastness of the heavens
Freeing my spirit
And listening to my soul
For true happiness comes from within
And your best gift; is YOU!

For Colleen’s syllabic challenge – the Choka poem written in bold italics;

Choka is a Japanese story poem that was renown between the 1st and 13th centuries. It follows a syllabic metre, 5/7/5/7/5/7/5/7/7 and does not rhyme.

Also for Sadje’s whatdoyousee image prompt – tagged in the poem.

Hope you are all well. I’d love to hear your take on the reflections in this poem.

Stay safe everyone, stay loving.

When we have even a little bit of confidence in ourselves, I believe it shines and draws others who are also seeking joy to us 😀
