Loveless Wilds #haibun #poetry

They said Love had it all
Sugar, spice and everything nice
The pleasures
The ecstasy
The euphoria
All I would ever want
All I would ever need!
And so with thoughts of hope
I sought and I craved
Ascending to a dream
Yet rising to my demise!

Soaring

wings of happiness
gliding on gale, gust, and breeze
to be lost or found

There was joy but also despair
Breaks, rakes and aches
Scars, stains and Pains
For my happiness would not come from only love
And love did not bring only happiness.

in life’s loveless Wilds
I launched an expedition
happiness to find
where joy would come from loving
not from desire to be loved

Hi everyone, I’m back after almost a month away finishing my first novel draft.

I hope you enjoy this. Can’t wait for your feedback, I missed this place. My poetry might be a bit rusty.

Hope you’re all safe, I’ll be catching up slowly.

Stay loving everyone.

  1. Nice to see you back Jude. Love is all that. Joy, delight, ecstasy and hurt, pain and heartbreak.

    1. Thank you so much Sadje. Can’t wait to visit yours too. I saved a few. I agree it can hav all those, but all those are things on their own as well that can have love. Maybe that’s why all love is different, but there is a “universal” standard for love and that’s happiness. I guess that’s where this comes from.

Yeah the project took leaps and bounds. Having a week’s break then I’ll start embellishing and elaborating in the 2nd draft. But I won’t need a hiatus for that.

    1. Heyyy. Need to email you. It was challenging but I enjoyed it and got it done, aside from the last three chapters which I left in highlights because the 2nd draft is going to embellish the story and I’ll have to include that in the finale.

I’ll attempt to mail it next week (once I locate your address again – You’d still need a zip code for a letter! ✨

          1. I’m not sure we can zoom call for free from Google. I think it only within country. I am not set up with this account for extra charges.

Perhaps that is why? And then there is the time difference. United States is 8 hours behind South Africa.

Perhaps email is the better way? Though I know that I did have a zoom that I attended with folks from Europe and the US. So something to research. 😀
