Thrills, feels and spills. The weekend #poetry and prose

This post is better appreciated in a browser.

Round the world I long to go
To see what you have seen
To touch what you have touched
Yet here I am
The world around me
Waiting…

Last weekend I took a trip to the countryside; into the Savannah…

Photo of me by a friend from a distance

I am here but also there
In a dream, yet cradling a wish
Lost in another’s world
Until I am lost in mine

We took a walk in the wilderness, I got distracted, I lost myself, and my guides…

Those lions must not have been hungry coz making this video was a giveaway.

I eventually found the guides by roughly following in the last direction I’d seen them; just barely glimpsing them before I could decide to retrace my steps.

An arch is a threshold
A gateway from one thing to another
A claim!
And so I crossed;
From the natural to the modern…

#writephoto

I went to the pool for the first time in more than a year of covid restrictions. Coincidentally, I passed through an arch, though not the one in the image above.

If I’m generous, I’d give myself 5/10 for this dive.

I long for my dream
I long for my wish
But I wear a pair of goggles
And shelve them within reach
So I may see the dreams in front of me
And thus dear reader; may you do the same…
Shhh! It’s your turn now.

I thought that since it’s Saturday, and The Saturday symphony is still on ice, I’d share a little of me in this.

I also wrote this for a few of my favorite midweek prompts;

Looking forward to corresponding in the comments section.

Blessed weekend everyone.

      1. Great! It’s our turn to dream, but I prefer doing it without the goggles 😀

        1. Haha definitely, the goggles in this case are just to help us see the dreams right in front of us😇🙏🏾

          1. Goggles which change dreams would be innovative. 😂😂

            1. I was going to say real, but now I’m intrigued so, both?

              1. In real life we visited a mountain resort in the north for a couple of days to cool down. Metaphorically, I traveled the earth when I wrote the poem in response to Eugenia’s “round the world” where in my imagination I traveled around the globe, meeting people from all cultures and exchanging notes with them. It was a fun exercise! I would love to travel when the covid restrictions are lifted.

    1. A pleasure Jade. I don’t share too much of my life on here, though I do share a bulk of my thoughts and contemplations.
I think the pool wasn’t the best I’ve been to, I prefer the ones with light blue tiles to this one with the green ones. But on this day, it was the best pool in the world.

  16. This is great! Nice to see you!
As you may have noticed I rarely share pictures of myself. I’ve been thinking of maybe getting a go-pro camera to wear on my head and then take you, my internet friends, on hikes with me. I just don’t know that I would have time to do good editing. No one wants to hear me huff and puff on a hike for 2-3hours. They would only want a highlights reel. My dark sense of humor says, “Hey, if I wear a camera maybe that’s when a cougar will decide to eat me because they don’t like being videoed either. Hahaha.

    1. Hahahaha.😅 Yeah the editing can be tricky, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen photos tho I do miss a few posts, but you should try it if you’ve thought about it. Maybe a once in a while thing. If it’s fun for you, then that’s all you need to go ahead.

  21. This totally resonates with me. After being forced to stay in, I now want to travel everywhere. I never wanted to before, but I have a different perspective now. Just waiting on my passport to come so I can experience various cultures of food, music, people….everything. Thanks for sharing my friend.
