Taming fear. Haiku tales and poetry #whatdoyousee

#whatdoyousee

dear friend look away
mock not the fear within me
for its gape is wide

To conquer this dread is futile
Its claws are etched too deep
To surrender is folly
Its shadow spreads too far
And yet to embrace it is perilous
when the first step is acceptance

these demons are mine
the way only I must find
serendipity?

Dear friend plot me a map
Give me a compass, but no directions
For thy haven is not mine
And my own sanctum calls

from marble to green
round the bend, salvation waits
Gaia I beseech

Oh how loud it roars
when I heed freedom’s call
scourge to protector

It’s okay to be afraid
Tell someone, let it out
For only when we hold fear prisoner-
does it fester, feral and dangerous

There is good fear and damaging fear, but acknowledging and talking about it often tames it.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this.

The way you capture the images with your words is amazing. The deamons, the freedom and the fear is spot on πŸ‘Œ And I simply love this particular line “these demons are mine
the way only I must find
    serendipity?”

‘Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.’ Frank Herbert, from Dune. I always find this quotation comforting, and your piece reminds me of it, Jude.

I’m so glad Melanie. I know a few fox tales but the ones in Africa almost all involve the animals here. It is the leopard that’s most dangerously cunning and others as well, though not as deadly.

the fox drew my eye. What lovely colors.

Fear can be a drain, but a lesson that all must face – individually.
We can accept help though – because we are human.
I think though that other animals have emotions too.

And that their fear of human’s can be justified. Last night I was watching a talk by a theoretical physicist – there is so much unknown.

All that lives – everything universes, what ever life exists, energy and light only make up about 3 percent of everything. The rest is perhaps misleadingly called ‘dark matter’.

May we all be able to face our fears to make the world a better place for everything that has life.

I do agree Jules. I also meant to convey that tamed fear becomes caution and can also prevent recklessness at times.
