Love questions #poeticprose

In the dawn of her desire, she knew it all
From books that had told of love and loss
Words fragrant with intimacy and ecstasy
To Lessons learnt and shared by broken hearts
And the euphoria of soulmates discovered!
She took notes
Learnt by heart, matters of the heart
Taming lust with reason
And hope with reservation!

All he knew of love he hated
A procession of brokenhearted friends
A mother who only stayed because she could not leave
And many who settled for convenience over heart’s desire
He took notes
Ingesting the memories of pain
Coining Love, ‘a foolish construct’
And embracing desire without attachment!

Years of precautions and but moments is all it took for her to love him

A lifetime of experience and at first glance he knew she was different

His kiss washed all reason away

Her lips clasped on with committed resolve

The things he said sank so deep; a tale that would take a lifetime to tell

The melody of her voice soothed each crease; all his worry and pain forgotten

As desire fanned the embers of passion
They tossed their notes into Love’s scorching flames
For deep down they now knew, that love was beyond understanding
And that control over it, had always been an illusion

ยฉ judeitakali

Symbolically I didn’t use any colour in this post, because we each have different shades of love.

If you’d like, after reading this, you can call to mind the color combo(just 2) that you associate with love or a lover, and fill it in secretly or share it here. I’d say mine is pink+black.

Stay safe everyone, Stay loving.

  8. Good one, Jude! Pink and black is an interesting color combination. I see people as multi-faceted, like a crystal. It all depends on what angle the light shines on us, even in love.

Oh no Melanie, of course colour is most likely something we don’t consider at all with love. This is just for fun and very light-hearted.

      1. Yes, I know it’s for fun. Maybe you misunderstood me? I was also thinking symbolically, like when people say they see the color of auras/spirit around other people. I was originally going to say “we’re all walking lava lamps”, but I thought it might be too much of an outdated American cultural reference. I’m a little outdated myself sometimes. Ha,ha,ha ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Dear Jude,

I concur with Melanie in both her comments. Jude, you have given us plenty of food for thought, and you have certainly excelled yourself at portraying the coming together of two persons with very different experiences of love. Well done!

As for the two colours that one may associate with love or a lover, if I had to choose, then it would be purple and yellow. However, that really does not reflect my true nature, for I consider love to be a many-splendoured thing. Therefore, my true answer should be multicolour ๐ŸŽจ.

Wishing both you and Melanie a wonderful week!

      Yours sincerely,
      SoundEagle

      1. That’s beautiful SoundEagle! Thank you for chiming in! A boy I had a crush on once drew me “as he saw me” which was as a nebula in shades of blues and purples. I’m my own Universe? His family moved away shortly after and I never saw him again. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

      3. Dear Melanie and Jude,

Hello! Thank you for both of your lovely replies respectively.

Quoting myself in relation to what I am going to portray graphically:

As for the two colours that one may associate with love or a lover, if I had to choose, then it would be purple and yellow. However, that really does not reflect my true nature, for I consider love to be a many-splendoured thing. Therefore, my true answer should be multicolour ๐ŸŽจ.

I hereby send both of you the multicolour ๐ŸŽจ of TRUE LOVE as follows with Three Hearts and Swirls of Gypsy Delight:

        Yours sincerely,
        SoundEagle

  18. Wow!
    “Love was beyond understanding”
Everyone has their own meaning for love maybe that’s why love is pure. I loved the concept!
    Two colours- B&W
I would say Black because I read it somewhere that Black is all colours, it absorbs all the colours and
White because it reflects all the colours
So yeah basically Love is Colourful, oh yeah Vibgyor!
